February 15th CISD Professional Learning Day

Students in many subject areas feel that they are "bad at" that particular subject. That is because instruction and assessment are often based solely on the ability to answer questions that already have known solutions, literally trivializing the educational process. Students should be given more opportunities to creatively demonstrate mastery in open-ended situations, where many acceptable solutions are possible. These strategies can be applied across all subjects and levels, and attendees will leave this session with ideas that will transform their classrooms into those where each student can feel successful.
